The elbow is a joint comprised of three bones (humerus, radius, ulna). This complex hinge joint includes a variety of joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles that are common sites for many injuries. Many conditions of the elbow are caused by dysfunction of the shoulder and wrist, as it serves as the connecting link between the two extremities.

The elbow is one of the most susceptible regions for repetitive stress injuries, and elbow dysfunction can be linked to a variety of common conditions. It can be responsible for pain in the elbow, wrist, forearm and other regions of the body. Elbow pain has many different origins and presentations and should always be evaluated by a medical professional.
